Judson Bowling Completes Regular Season at Hoosier Classic
Indianapolis, IN This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Tier 1 Hoosier Classic.
On the Men's side, the Eagles came away with a 27th-place finish out of 72 teams. The team was led by Sophomore standout Owen Farish who had a stellar qualifying round with scores of 179-236-166-248-226-265 for a 1320 total and 220 average. This placed him 16th out of over 350 of the best college bowlers in the country. Owen ended the weekend with an 86.67% multipin percentage and a total fill percentage of 88.79%. Freshman standout Phil Heuser came off the bench to average 198.67 in his 3 games. Sophomore Sebastian Beth was simply spectacular on his single pins in which he went 24 of 24 for 100%. Sebastian also averaged 196.17 for the weekend with an 81% overall fill percentage. Freshman Alex Kouvelas was solid with a 193 average and 86.67% single-pin percentage. Junior leader Tom Antonson averaged 188 for the weekend and had a 77.78% on multipin spares. Sophomore Jimmy Kontos averaged 180 for the weekend with an 82.35% single-pin percentage. Senior Blaine Hunt was again amazing on single pins going 13 for 13 and 100%. Blaine has put together the best regular season single pin spare percentage in Judson history at 92.8% going 232 out of 252 for the season. Freshman Griffin Roake is still battling some nagging injuries but played a key role in scouting out lanes for the team as well as keeping the team loose all weekend.
On the Lady's side, the Eagles came away with a 42nd-place finish. The team bowled well at times but wasn't able to match up or make good enough shots in the long term to stay with the high-scoring pace of the weekend. Sophomore Chloe Siezega led the way with a 199.33 average for the weekend as she finished with a team-high 258 in game 6 of qualifying. Chloe was also stellar on her single pins at 94.44% for the weekend. Freshman standout Paige Carpenter averaged 196.67 for the weekend she started slow but finished strong as her last 3 games in qualifying were 238, 214, and 210. Paige was also stellar on her single pins going 27 of 29 for 93.10%. Junior Neena Dingillo is really starting to hit her stride as she came off the bench to average 185.20 for her 5 games in qualifying. Freshman Demi Kontos averaged 173 for the weekend with a solid 83% single-pin percentage and stellar multipin percentage of 80%; Junior Tina Tindall averaged 177.5 for the weekend; Sophomore Michele Chancey averaged 171 with a single-pin percentage of 83%; Freshman Darian Mobley was 75% in her single pins and 71.43% on multipin percentage; and Sophomore Brandy Stewart was 75% on single pins.
This concludes the regular season for our Eagles and now we wait for the Sectional Selections on the USBC Sectional selection show on Facebook this Wednesday, February 22nd.
