Judson Bowling Achieves Standout Performances in Allentown, PA

Allentown, PA     This past week the Judson Eagles had 2 Tier 1 tournaments over a 4-day event in Allentown, PA where we competed at the Roto-Grip Keystone-Quaker Classic and the Lehigh Valley Classic.

On the Women's Varsity side, the Lady Eagles ended with a 4th place finish at the Lehigh Valley Classic and a 2nd place Finish at the Roto-Grip Keystone-Quaker Classic.
At the Lehigh, the team started slow game 1 with a 788 team game but then bounced back strong with games of 1006 and 1003 to get right back in contention. The team had its 1st back to back 1000 games of the season which was led by freshman standout Paige Carpenter who had a dominating individual performance of 1100 for the 5 games and an average of 220. Paige was the tournament MVP as she placed 1st overall with games of 221,190.246,237, and 206. Freshman Darian Mobley came off the Bench in game 5 and added a nice 189 game. Sophomore Chloe Siezega averaged 187.6 for the day and had a single pin percentage of 92.31%. Sophomore Michele Chancey averaged 181 for the day. Sophomore Brandy Stewart came off the bench to average 178 and had a multi-pin conversion percentage of a fantastic 83.33%. Sophomore Demi Kontos had a big 2nd game of 221 to lead the team to 1006. On day 2 of the competition, the team posted its highest 4-game baker set of the season of 826 which included games of 206,194,180, and 246. The ladies averaged 185 as a team during baker to finish the tournament in 4th place. Junior Tina Tindall also contributed in the baker format where she held a fantastic 72% multipin percentage rate.

At the Roto-Grip Keystone Quaker Classic, the Lady Eagles ended day 1 with a 2nd place finish. Freshman Paige Carpenter had another stellar day averaging 193.20 and ended up finishing 2nd individually for her 3rd All-Tournament team of the season. Paige's back-to-back performances have propelled her into ranking 5th nationally among all rookie players. Sophomore Michele Chancey had another solid performance averaging 190.5 and a 90.1 single-pin percentage. Freshman Darian Mobley averaged a solid 178.6 as she bowled all 5 games of competition and finished with a 227 game and a single pin percentage of 81.25%. After a slow start to the day, Sophomore Chloe Siezega came back in the lineup in games 4 and 5 and had games of 204 and 193 and had an 80% single pin spare percentage. Sophomore Brandy Stewart came off the bench and averaged 174.67 with a nice single-pin spare percentage of 87.5%. Other Contributors on the day were Junior Tina Tindall and Freshman Demi Kontos. Due to weather the team had to leave the event early and didn't get to compete on day 2.

On the Men's Varsity side, the Eagles came away with a top-25 finish at the Roto-Grip Keystone Quaker Classic and an 11th Place finish at the Lehigh Valley Classic. At the Roto-Grip Keystone Quaker Classic Freshman Phillip Heuser came off the bench to average 197 for his 2 games. Sophomore standout Sebastian Beth averaged 194.60 and added an outstanding single-pin spare percentage of 96.30% Senior Blaine Hunt had a solid single-pin spare percentage of 88.46%. Freshman Griffin Roake came off the bench to add a spark and averaged 183.5 for his 2 games. Sophomore Jimmy Kontos had a 189 average with a fantastic multipin percentage of 75%. Other contributors were Tom Antonson (180 average), Alex Kouvelas, and Brandon Beto (70.59% multipin percentage)

At the Lehigh Valley Classic, the men finished day 1 with an 11th-place finish. Freshman standout Griffin Roake came in off the bench and averaged 201.5 and had a high game of 230. Sophomore Sebastian Beth was solid again averaging 192.4 and was perfect on his single pins going 11 for 11 and 100%. After early struggles, Senior Blaine Hunt came back into the lineup and averaged 198.67 for his 3 games. Junior Tom Antonson had a stellar single-pin spare percentage of 90%. Senior Brandon Beto averaged 178 for his 2 games. Freshman Alex Kouvelas averaged 185 for his 4 games and had a stellar multipin percentage of 77.78%. Sophomore Jimmy Kontos averaged 184.25 and had a solid 64.71% multipin percentage rate. Freshman Phil Heuser had a stellar 75% multipin percentage. The team finished with a solid 1038 game to jump 4 spots in game 5.

The first half of the season is now completed and we look to build on this solid first half of the season. As 2nd semester starts we have back-to-back tournaments at the Kegel invite and the Storm Baker Challenge both in Addison, IL.
