Eagles Compete in Leatherneck Classic to Bring Home Top 25 and 15 Finishes

Moline, IL     This past weekend the Judson Eagles had another strong showing as we competed at the Leatherneck Classic.

On the Women's Varsity side, the Lady Eagles ended with a 12th-place finish. Freshman standout Paige Carpenter led the team on average at 190.33. Junior Tina Tindall had a solid weekend averaging 187 with a 91.67% single-pin percentage. On Saturday afternoon the Ladies made a late charge in shooting 987 in the final game to move up 4 spots in the standings. Sunday's baker portion started well in which the team had a 233 in game 2 but ran into transition issues and struggled for the remainder of the day other than 1 other game of 202. Sophomore Chloe Siezega who was up and down on Saturday was absolutely on fire on Sunday where she ended up with a strike percentage of 50.46% on the weekend as well as 88% on single pins. Other contributors were Sophomore Michele Chancey who averaged 174 for the weekend with a stellar 80% multipin percentage. Freshman Demi Kontos averaged 181 for the weekend and an 87.5% single-pin percentage. Junior Neena Dingillo also contributed at times all weekend and averaged 172. Neena's leadership skills have proven to be a cornerstone for us this season and is something priceless and essential for our success going forward.

On the Women's JV side, the Lady Eagles had a strong 6th-place finish. Led by Sophomore Brandy Stewart who had a 180.83 average for the weekend as well as a single pin percentage of 86.21%. Sophomore Kaylee Mann also had a solid weekend averaging 160.5 and a single pin % of 79%. Sophomore Marisa Garcia had a team-best 95.83% single pin percentage going 23/24 for the weekend…this would be her best percentage to date as a Judson Eagle. Other Contributors for the weekend were Sophomore Kaitlynn Pillion who had 2 games over 200 in qualifying and is always an emotional leader for our team. Kaitlynn is a highly intense player that breeds energy throughout our team. Sophomore Sydney Melton had another strong performance and continues to grow as a bowler and has always been an exceptional teammate. Freshman Darian Mobley continues to show major growth and also contributed throughout the weekend.

On the Men's Varsity side, the Eagles came away with a top-25 finish. Sophomore standout Jimmy Kontos led the way with a 202.17 average and a 90% single-pin percentage – Jimmy is piling up great performances this season. Junior Tom Antonson also had a great weekend where he posted a 214 game off the bench and a season-high 90.91 Multipin spare percentage. Sophomore Sebastian Beth continues to be solid as he averaged 197 for the weekend with a 71% multipin spare percentage. Sebastian has been so close to a breakout tournament and we know that one is soon ahead. Senior Blaine Hunt had a stellar 94.44% single-pin spare percentage and 83% on multi-pins. Freshman Phil Heuser continues to gain experience and averaged 188 for the weekend. Sophomore Owen Farish contributed at times all weekend and is also due for a breakout weekend. Fresh Alex Kouvelas and Freshman Griffin Roake added support while either in the lineup or as supportive teammates from the bench.

We need to keep the momentum going as we head into December where we will be competing at the Warhawk Open in Addison, IL on December 3-4th.
