Judson Performs At High Level at Warhawk Open

This past weekend the Judson Eagles had another strong showing as we competed at the Warhawk Open in Addison, IL.

On the Women's Varsity side, the Lady Eagles ended with a 10th-place finish. The team had its best 1st game of the season of 975 led by Chloe Siezega (244 game), Demi Kontos (215 game), and Paige Carpenter (203 game). Day 2 started slow but adjustments were made and in the last 2 sets, we defeated St Xavier and St Francis back to back in the 4-game baker sets. Sophomore Chloe Siezega led the team on average for the weekend at 184.33 and had a strike percentage of 43%. Sophomore Michele Chancey had a stellar weekend averaging 182 for the weekend and went perfect on single pins at 12 for 12. Freshman Demi Kontos averaged 179.33 for the weekend with a 64% multipin conversion rate. Freshman Paige Carpenter averaged 178.33 for the weekend with an 81% single-pin percentage. Junior Tina Tindall averaged 162 for the weekend with a 60% multipin conversion rate. Junior Neena Dingillo had a stellar single-pin percentage of 90% and as always brought a ton of positive vibes to the team.

On the Women's JV side, the Lady Eagles had a strong 6th-place finish. Led by a breakout performance by Freshman Darian Mobley who averaged 172.33 average for the weekend with a stellar multipin percentage of 79.31%. After a rough start on Saturday, the team was able to bounce back on Sunday and move up 2 spots in the standings. Sophomore Brandy Stewart averaged 157.83 for the weekend with a multipin percentage of 65.71%. Sophomore Kaylee Mann averaged 150.5 for the weekend. Junior Alicia Anton made her first appearance of the season after coming back from a knee injury. Other contributors were Marisa Garcia and Sydney Melton.

On the Men's Varsity side, the Eagles came away with a top 11thplace finish. Sophomore standout Owen Farish led the way with a 211.33 average and an 80% single-pin percentage. After grinding through day 1 this team was also able to move up 2 spots on day 2 and only missed the cut by 79 pins over 46 games of the competition. Sophomore Jimmy Kontos had another solid weekend averaging 197.67. Senior Blaine Hunt had a stellar single-pin spare percentage of 96.67%.. Sophomore Sebastian Beth averaged 187.33 for the weekend with a single pin percentage of 85%. Junior Tom Antonson also had a solid weekend averaging 183.5 and a solid 88.89% on single pins. Freshman Alex Kouvelas had a fantastic multipin percentage of 81.82%. Overall this season this team is still barely scratched the surface of its potential but the signs are there for a breakout performance.

On the Men's JV1 and JV2 sides both had finished in the top 10. Led by Freshman standout Phil Heuser who averaged 187.67 for the weekend and a 64.71% multipin percentage. Freshman standout Griffin Roake averaged 182.33 for the weekend with a stellar 76.47% on multi-pins and a 52% strike percentage. Senior Brandon Beto had a solid single-pin percentage of 87.50%. Junior Anthony Gutierrez had a solid 86.67% single-pin percentage. Other contributors from the weekend were Derrick Robinson Jr, Adan Cabezudo, Connor Richmond, Matt Sipes, and Aaron Paige.

We need to grow from these performances as we finish the first half of the season at 2 big Tier 1 event The Lehigh Classic and the Rotogrip Classic in Allentown, PA - December 18-23rd.
