Addison, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Storm Baker Challenge in Addison, IL.

On the Men's Varsity side we were able to come away with a 3rd place finish!  With an 811 4 game set to start the tournament that had us in 1st right out of the gate which included a 261 high game.  We were also able to finish with a 754 and a high game of 224 to end day 1. 

On Day 2 we started on fire starting with the front 9 strikes in game 1.  Junior Sebastian Beth stepped up with a chance at history but came in a little high pocket and left a 4 pin in a game we finished with 279 and an 855 4 game set. A surge in set 3 with games of 202, 207, 215, and 235 solidified the 3rd seed heading into bracket matchplay! 

We then faced Calumet College and got off to a little rough start and ended up losing 3-0 in the best of 5.  The team finished with an overall single pin percentage of 86%.  Freshman Caleb Parent and Sophomore Griffin Roake both went 100% on single pins going 11 for 11 combined!  Griffin also struck 50% of the time and Caleb was 80% on multipins! 

Sophomore Eric Roberts was 92% on single pins, Junior James Kontos was 89% on single pins, Junior Sebastian Beth was 86% on single pins, Sophomore Phil Heuser went 84% in overall fill percentage, and Senior Thomas Antonson was 74% on multipin conversions.

 

On the Men's JV side we were able to come away with a 2nd place finish!  With a high final set of 762 which included a high game of 221 we were able to qualify 2nd heading into matchplay. 

In the bracket we went up against Calumet College and just couldn't get anything going and ended up losing 2-0 to finish 2nd.  Sophomore Adan Cabezudo had one of his best statistical tournaments of his college career going 83% on single pins. 

Freshman Caleb Vergona also put up some impressive numbers going 81% on single pins and he struck 44% of the time!  Junior Anthony Gutierrez went 58% on multipins, Junior Matthew Sipes struck 38 % of the time, Freshman Brendan Jones was 62% on single pins, Senior, and two sport athlete Logan Shears struck 30% of the time, and senior Aaron Paige was 43% on fill percentage.

All teams are off this weekend before we head to the Kohawk Invite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the weekend of Feb 3rd and 4th.
