Eagles Fall In Finals
Notre Dame, IN - The Judson Eagles Men's tennis team looked to take home some silverware in a highly anticipated CCAC tournament final against #22 Holy Cross.
Despite competitive matches and hotly contested ties, the Eagles lost the doubles point losing all 6-0,6-1 and 6-2 and #1, #2 and #3 doubles respectively.
Despite the early momentum helping the opposition, it was #3 Joshua Bavich who wrestled back momentum going up 4-2 in the first set. On other courts, #2 Chadd Kerrigan went down 6-0 6-2. This was shortly followed by #1 Alexandre Veltkamp who despite a fierce contest went down 6-2 6-4.
It was at #6 singles where Cesar Otondo Villafan lost 6-3 6-4 giving Holy Cross their second successive conference title.
Other incomplete matches included #3 Joshua Bavich who was 7-6 1-2 at the time of clinch, #5 Julius Fortun 6-2 4-4 and #4 Nicolas Donoso 6-4 3-4.
The Eagles finish the season as the CCAC runner-up in both the regular season, and tournament. They finish the season with an overall record of 10-9.
