Men's Tennis Sweeps St. Ambrose to Begin CCAC Tournament
Hanover Park, Ill. The Judson University Men's Tennis Team participated in the first round of the CCAC tournament on Tuesday as the Eagles took care of St. Ambrose 4-0.
Judson was victorious in the first, third, and fifth singles positions. Alex Veltkamp won the first set 6-3 prior to his opponent retiring. Max Fortun won his singles match in straight sets 6-0, 6-2, while Moosa Choudhary swept his opponent 6-1, 6-0. Chad Kerrigan was leading #2 singles 6-4, 3-5 prior to the match being called. Neill Pillai won his first set 6-3 prior to his match being stopped.
In doubles, Judson won the second and third doubles to earn a point. Chadd Kerrigan and Fortun took second doubles 6-2, while Veltkamp and Pillai were victorious in third doubles 6-3. Bavich and William Barnes were tied 3-3 when their match was called.
The fourth-seeded Eagles face the top-seeded Wolves from Cardinal Stritch on Thursday in Milwaukee.
