Men's Tennis Wins Second Straight Match Against NCAA D-III Opponent with 4-3 Win Over Wheaton
Wheaton, IL . The Judson University Men's Tennis Team earned its second straight win to begin the season with a 4-3 win over Wheaton. This match was scored with a hybrid format. The match used the NAIA doubles point system while playing the doubles sets by NCAA standards.
Judson earned the doubles point convincingly. The tightest of the three doubles matches was Hugo La Hei and Alex Veltkamp taking down Wheaton's top pair 8-7. Both the second (William Barnes/Antoine Adamiak) and third (Julius Fortun/Max Fortun) doubles teams won their matchups 8-3.
Judson had three winners in singles play. Veltkamp took top singles 6-2, 6-1. Adamiak won his fifth singles in a tiebreak 6-2, 2-6, 10-4. Julius Fortun won his sixth singles 6-2, 6-1.
Judson (2-0) faces Grace on Thursday beginning at 4:30 in Northern Indiana.
