Recapping The Season Awards For Football

Elgin, IL - After the football season concluded, the MSFA Conference released their All Conference list, while the NCCAA and NAIA released their 2023 Fall Scholar Athlete selections. 

For the MSFA Midwest All Conference teams, five players were selected while an additional three received honorable mentions. 

Running Back Brandon Mackey and linemen Derek DeVries were selected to the First Team. 

Wide Receiver Grant Alexander, linemen Tyler Silverstrand, and linebacker Jay Callentine were selected to the Second Team. 

The three honorable mention selections were Bryden Miller, Anthony Cathcart, and Reginald Bethley. 

Brandon Mackey was also named to the All-NCCAA Second Team Offense. 

Three players were NCCAA Scholar Athletes, in addition to being NAIA Scholar Athletes.

Sports Management major Negil Bruce tallied over a 3.600 GPA. 

Damon Mueller with a GPA over 3.700 and Jacob Slonski with a GPA over 3.500, both Management majors also were selected for the recognitions. 

In January, the MSFA will also release their All Academic Team.
