Mackey Rushes for 245 Yards and Three Scores in 64-22 Loss to Olivet Nazarene
Bourbonnais, Ill. . Brandon Mackey continues to dominate on the ground for the Judson Football program as he rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns on Saturday against Olivet Nazarene in a 64-22 loss. Mackey's effort comes after rushing for 194 yards and recording 202 total yards last week against Madonna.
The Eagles got on the board at the 6:59 mark when Mackey scored from 25 yards out (Dakari Ferguson scored the two-point conversion). Mackey's second touchdown run came at the 12:17 mark of the third quarter when he scored on a 60-yard scamper (Colino PAT). The third score came at the 9:48 mark of the third quarter when he scored from 75 yards out (Colino PAT).
Judson had 344 total yards of offense in the contest. Christian Miller was 3-8 passing for 14 yards. Isaiah Carillo came in relief and threw for 35 yards and had 30 yards rushing. O'Vauntay Vickers had five receptions for 24 yards.
Mitrez Rawls led Judson with 11 tackles (8 solo, 3 assisted. Ryan Otey (5-3) also contributed on the defensive side of the ball. DeHavion Allen had six total tackles (5-1), including two tackles for a loss. DeMarius Farmer (2-0) had two pass breakups to lead the team. EJ Glover (1-1) had a tackle for a loss as well. Chance Cregeen (2-2) and Malik Rowe (0-2) each had a half tackle for a loss.
"That is a really good team. They beat us in all phases of the game," said Judson Head Coach Dan Paplaczyk. "[Olivet's] Coach Hehman has built a really good program. You can tell how well they are coached by their staff. For us, the offensive line and Brandon Mackey played great again. Mackey went through tackles every time he touched the ball. We'll get back at it this week and prepare for St. Ambrose and build off of the positives we can take away from today's game."
Judson faces St. Ambrose in Davenport on October 8 at 1:00 p.m.
