Mackey Makes House Call For Eagles
Streamwood, IL - Judson Eagles football was back home this afternoon. JU took on the visiting Siena Heights Saints from Adrian, MI. It was the third and final MSFA cross-over game for the Eagles. They will start Midwest League games next week.
The Saints came away with the victory 58-14 over the Eagles. With the win, Siena Heights moved to 2-1, JU, to 0-3.
Judson battled hard in the opening quarter to a 7-7 tie. The highlight for the Eagles was a scintillating scamper by junior running back Brandon Mackey to the house for 57 yards. Mackey finished with 14 carries, good for 99 yards on the ground.
Jaedon Hubbard got the start for JU at quarterback. He went 7-15, for 58 yards.
In the second half, it was senior qb John Odom under center. He connected with Grant Alexander for a 24 yard score, and finished 7-13 for 86 yards.
Alexander finished with 4 grabs for 59 yards and the score. There was also another solid statline for freshmen Anthony Cathcart, 5 catches for 35 yards.
Josh Mason led the way on defense with six tackles and a sack. EJ Glover also had six tackles.
Next week, the Eagles are home again for their homecoming game. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm under the lights against MSFA West foe, Olivet Nazarene.
