Eagles Offense Has Four Score Showing
Arlington Heights, IL - After a bye week, the Eagles were back on the gridiron this week against CCAC opponent Roosevelt. For the second straight week, the Eagles put up some quality numbers on offense, but they were ultimately on the wrong side of the ledger in the contest 56-28.
For the second straight game, quarterback Aydan Edwards had a nice statline going 16-37 for 179 yards and three scores. Edwards has six touchdown throws over the last two games.
On the ground, Brandon Mackey tallied his highest rushing total of the season with 164 yards on 16 carries. Mackey also found the endzone for his third rushing touchdown on the season. In seven games, Mackey has gone over the 100 yard mark four times.
Grant Alexander built off a big week last time out with another good performance. Alexander was Judson's leading receiver with eight catches for 134 yards and a score.
Again, the offense is becoming a bright spot for JU. They have scored 54 points in their last two games. Since returning from injury, Edwards has been good, and the speed and ability of Mackey, Alexander, and Anthony Cathcart are making plays on the outside. Mackey's touchdown run was a 46 yard dash to paydirt, while Alexander's house call was from 39 yards out.
The Eagles have two games remaining in the 2023 season. Next week, they travel to St. Ambrose, and in two weeks it is the home finale and Senior Day against St. Francis.
