Maria Alarcon Highlights Judson's NAIA Meet With All-American Performance in Racewalk

Gulf Shores, AL. Judson University's Track and Field programs had four athletes participate in the NAIA National Championships on Thursday.

Maria Alarcon was named an NAIA All-American following her seventh-place finish in the racewalk with a 26:51.52. The race was considered to be the most competitive field in at least the last decade. Nayeli Cisneros finished 11th with a 27:50.61 time. Beth Rodriguez was 12th with a 28:33.10 time. Judson's other competitor was Camren Carter in the 110m hurdles. Carter finished with a 15.39 time in the preliminaries to finish 28th.

"So proud of all four of our qualifiers," said Head Coach Cam Knudsen. "Maria and Nayeli both capped off their careers with another national trip, both qualified for every NAIA national track meet in their time here. Maria getting all-American in the most competitive field ever in the racewalk is so huge and finished her career getting all-American at all 7 NAIA nationals. I'm so excited for Beth and Cam's future. Both are only sophomores and already have so much national experience. They will be huge for us in the coming years."

The Judson Athletic Department Congratulates all four athletes on their great accomplishments this year.
