Carter Qualifies for Nationals in 60 Meter Hurdles as Eagles Open Indoor Season
Bourbonnais, IL The Judson University Indoor Track and Field Team began its 2022-23 campaign on Saturday as the Eagles already had thrilling results in the opening meet.
Camren Carter qualified for the NAIA Championship in 60-meter hurdles with an 8.27 B-standard performance. That time placed him first of any runner in the race by over 0.3 seconds. Ian Wiggan participated in the 60-meter run and set a school record by doing so with a 6.96-second performance. He was .05 seconds away from the NAIA B-standard qualification and finished in fourth place overall. Brandon Mackey ran a 7.17 60-meter race to place ninth overall. In the 200-meter race, Chris Frazier finished in 12th place overall with a solid 23.49-second time. For the women's team, Josilyn Ballor did well in both the 60-meter and 200-meter races. In the 60, Ballor put up an 8.25-second time to finish 11th in the preliminaries, while she placed 11th in the 200 with a 27.42 time.
"This meet was just sprinters, jumpers, and throwers," said Head Track & Field Coach Cam Knudsen. "I was happy with the day overall. They all have been working hard all semester, so it's good to see that pay off. We should have some great individuals on the men's side and I'm excited to see what they can do."
Judson next participates in the Karl Schlender Open in Whitewater, Wisconsin on January 21.
