Uribe Breaks Two School Records in Walter Cramer Open
Bourbonnais, Ill. The Judson University Track & Field Team competed for the second consecutive week at Olivet Nazarene University. The event, once again, was an individual-only scoring system.
Cassandra Uribe broke two school records in the 200 and 400-meter dashes. In the 400, she placed fifth out of 25 runners with a 1:00.01 time. In the 200, Uribe placed ninth overall (out of 41 runners) with a 26.58-second performance. Danielle Gibson had a PR in the 400-meter dash with a 1:06.73 time to finish 15th overall.
Elisabeth Kania placed third in the 1000-meter run with a 3:18.67 time. Ella Richter placed fifth with a 3:23.29 time. Eva Serrato finished eighth in the 800-meter run with a 2:38.34 time.
Beth Rodriguez won the race walk with a 17:48.26 time, which is currently the 11th-best time in the country.
For the men, Camren Carter won the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.41-second race. Ian Wiggan finished tied for fourth in the 60-meter dash and in fifth place (66 participants) in the 200-meter dash. In the 200, Wiggan's time was 22.88, while his time in the 60 was 7.11.
Gage finished with a PR in the mile as he finished in 16th with a 4:51.83 time. Juan Villagomez had a nice Season Best in the mile with a 15th-place finish time of 4:51.53.
In the men's 3000-meter run, Dylan Bledsoe (9:11.99, 15th place), Chase Porsche (9:13.34, 16th), and Kyle Braund (9:29.00, 22nd) all had PR performances.
"The team did a great job completing and building on last week's meet," said Head Coach Cam Knudsen. "Today was definitely our best meet of the year and it seems things are progressing nicely on both sides as we approach our conference meet. We are really looking forward to the next two weeks."
Judson next participates in the Titan Open on Saturday, February 11 in Bloomington, Illinois. The week following is the CCAC Championship on February 17 and 18.
