Track & Field Opens 2023 Slate at Wisconsin Whitewater

Whitewater, WI      The Judson University Track & Field Programs began their 2022-2023 slate of the schedule at Wisconsin Whitewater's Karl Schlender Invitational. The men finished in fourth place overall as a team, while the women placed sixth. 

 

On the Men's side, Camren Carter posted a season-best time in the 60-meter hurdles with an 8.24-second performance. In addition, Carter placed 10th out of 41 runners in the 200-meter dash with a 23.71 time.

 

Ian Wiggan won the 200-meter dash with a 22.88 finals performance. Additionally, Wiggan placed fifth in the long jump with a 6.44-meter mark. 

 

Wiggan and Brandon Mackey finished in seventh and eighth place respectively in the 60-meter dash as Ian finished with a 7.14 time, while Brandon Mackey recorded a 7.16 time. Mackey's 7.16-second performance is a personal best. 

 

Dylan Bledsoe finished third in the 3000-meter run with a 9:20.87 time. Following him was Chase Porsche with a 9:22.49 time to finish in fourth. Bledsoe also ran the mile and finished with a pr as he recorded a 4:33.84 time to finish sixth.

 

For the women, Cassandra Uribe set a school record in the 60-meter dash with an 8.22 time in the prelims and finished in seventh place with an 8.36 time in the final. Josilyn Ballor finished right behind Uribe with an eighth-place finish time of 8.41.  Uribe was also a fifth-place finisher in the 200m dash with a 27.74-second performance. 

 

Gina Misek finished in third place in the long jump with a 4.78m performance and finished in fifth place in the 60-meter hurdles with a 10.51 time. 

 

Kasey Moreno set a personal best in the 3000m run with a 10:54.81 time in the final, which led to a third-place finish. Moreno also finished in third in the 1 mile run with a 5:39.02 time. Right behind her was Ella Richter's (5:45.01) fourth-place finish. 

 

"Both teams were missing a few key people, but we started off this spring with a really good day," said Head Coach Cam Knudsen. "Coach [Quinten Demps] got the sprinters ready to go and they had a great day, including a school record. Distance had quite a few PRs as well. Doing this well this early bodes well for the rest of the season."

 

Judson returns to action on Saturday in the Olivet Nazarene Invite in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
