Roderick Simmons is the new Faculty Athletics Representative for Judson University as one of his many titles held on campus. 

The 2023-24 school year was Simmons’s first year in the role. He first started at Judson during the 2021-2022 school year.

Simmons’ day to day operations consist of helping interview transfer students, and all student-athletes. He advises students on the NAIA processes of eligibility, and the structure of being a college student-athlete. 

Simmons works closely with the Athletic Director, and Registrar Office to make sure those checks and balances are met for each athlete. 

Beginning June 1st, Simmons will also be the Assistant Vice President for Spiritual Development on campus. He will lead all spiritual programs on campus, and provide intercultural consulting to faculty. 

The Elgin, IL native is a mastery in encouraging young athletes, and building core relationships with every player. Simmons’ goals are to build rapport with each athlete, and to be able to provide the best academic experience possible for each student-athlete on campus. 

Simmons played basketball during his high school tenure, and he is a Judson alumni, class of 1994.
