Head men's soccer coach Steve Burke has built one of the best men's soccer programs in the nation. In his 19 years at the helm when inducted, Burke has won 343 games, ranking him third in NAIA history in career wins. He led Judson to its fifth NCCAA National Championship in 2002 and guided the Eagles to a CCAC Regular Season and Tournament Championship as well. Under Burke, Judson College has become the most prolific team in the history of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) soccer tournament. Since taking the reigns of Judson's men's soccer program in 1984, Burke has led the Eagles to five NCCAA National Championships (1991, 1992, 1995, 1997 and 2002), 11 NCCAA District/Regional Championships, nine Conference Championships and an NAIA District, Regional and Area Championship. The Eagles have appeared in the NCCAA National Tournament 12 times in Burke's 19-year stint, including nine straight appearances from 1991-1999. Burke has been named NCCAA National Coach of the Year three times, including last season and in 1987 and 1992. He has received NCCAA District/Regional Coach of the Year honors seven times, NAIA District Coach of the Year in 1990 and 1992, NAIA Area Coach of the Year in 1990 and has been tabbed Conference Coach of the Year four times, including last season. Burke, along with his dad Douglas Burke, became the first of a father-son duo to win national championships. The older Burke won three NCCAA National Championships coaching Houghton to titles in 1979, 1980 and 1986. The younger Burke is also the first person to win a NCCAA National Championship as a player and a coach, leading Houghton to the 1979 title while being named tournament MVP, as well as NCCAA and NAIA First Team All-American. Burke is also the Director of Athletics at Judson.
