Mike Glickert
A two-sport athlete that lettered all four years for Judson, Mike Glickert joins the athletic hall of fame as the 19th member for men's soccer and the eighth for baseball. An early part of the athletic program, Glickert made history in both men's soccer and baseball as he was on the first teams to have winning seasons. The first men's soccer winning season came just four years into the new program with a 10-2 record in 1970 while in 1972 the baseball team went 20-11.
The 1973-74 Judson Male Athlete of the Year was a three-time all-Conference selection in soccer. He earned NIIC All-Conference awards in his freshman (1970), junior (1972), and senior (19730 seasons. A two-time team MVP, he guided Judson to their first-ever NIIC Conference Championship in 1973 while also being named an Outstanding College Athlete of America. Earning NAIA All-District in the same season, he was named the team captain, too. The men's soccer team went 29-17-4 in his four seasons of play as he collected 10 goals, 11 assists, for 31 points.
Coming away with a team record of 46-45 in four years of play in baseball, Glickert earned the Charlie Hustle award in his freshman season (1971) and then was the team captain as a senior (1974). Judson's first winning record and 20-win season came in 1973 at 20-11. He finished his career with a .279 batting average, 13 doubles, 80 hits, and 18 runs scored. He also collected 42 RBI and had a .955 fielding percentage.
Glickert is originally from St. Louis, Mo., and currently resides in the St. Louis area.
