JASON ACRES '95
Playing from 1991-94, former men's soccer player Jason Acres is one of the best to go through the program. Transferring to Judson as a sophomore, Acres made an immediate impact and helped guide Judson to its first-ever NCCAA National Tournament Championship in 1991. He was a Second-Team NCCAA All-American that year and was also named the NCCAA National Tournament Defensive Most Valuable Player. That was just the start of great things to come. In 1992 the team repeated as national champions and Acres was a First-Team NCCAA All-American as well as the NCCAA Player of the Year and NAIA All-American First-Team. He led his team with 18 goals and also had 18 assists, still ranking as the 10th best single-season mark for the program. Along with a list of honors, Acres was the NAIA District Player of the Year and was named Judson's Male Athlete of the Year. As a senior, Acres repeated as a NCCAA First Team All-American selection and added the distinguished honor of NAIA First Team All-American, again, to his accomplishments, as well. He once again led his team in goals with 22. Acres was named the Judson Male Athlete of the Year once again. He is still the only male athlete in Judson's history to be given that acknowledgment more than once. Acres scored 46 goals in his career, and his 40 career assists is tied for eighth all-time.
