Elgin, IL - After the Eagles took home the first set, it appeared as if it was going to be an easy night at the office. But the Trolls of Trinity Christian made it anything but by taking Judson to the brink. Trinity took the second and third set before the Eagles were able to come back to take the final two sets. The final line score: 25-19, 24-26, 21-25, 25-20, 16-14.
With the win, the Eagles are 16-10 overall, and 8-2 in conference play. Judson has four games left in the regular season. all in conference, and three of them at home. JU sits in third place in the conference which would give them at least one home game come tourney time.
Senior Alyssa Gerzel led the way with 21 kills while Maisie Green added 13.
Alina Romero had 26 of the team's 52 assists. Emalee Wiley and Yomailis Fernandez each had 16 digs.
The power punch of Issy Nick added 8 kills and 4 blocks.
In the fifth set, the Eagles were up 8-3 before Trinity stormed back to tie the game at 10. Trinity went on to lead the final set 13-10. With their backs against the wall, JU rallied to take six of the final seven points to bring things home 16-14.
Judson has another week off before they welcome in ranked Viterbo next Tuesday night.
