Back At Home, Back In Win Column

Elgin, IL - After a very long road trip, the Eagles were back at home for some home overdue home cooking. In their conference home opener, the Eagles took on Indiana University Northwest, and were able to take home a 3 set victory. 

Judson, now 7-7 overall, and 3-1 in conference play, had a huge effort from Alyssa Gerzel and Yomailis Fernandez. The duo was spiking balls all over the Lindner Center, leading to double digit kills for both. 

Not far behind, Jaclyn Riedl with 9 kills. Setting things up was Alina Romero with 22 assists. 

Judson also had 7 more aces in the match, and through the first month of the season, they are averaging a staggering 9.5 aces per match. Those quick points certainly make things easy for the JU rotation. 

With the more challenging part of their schedule now behind them, look for the Eagles to start to roll as conference play gets cranked up. 

It was also an important night as the Eagles community helped show support for Mental Health Awareness by wearing green. 

JU will be back at it tomorrow night against NCCAA opponent Emmaus.
