Judson Concludes CCAC Tournament with Semifinal Loss to St. Ambrose
Davenport, IA The Judson Women's Volleyball Team fought wholeheartedly as they were able to push for extra sets in the CCAC Semifinals against St. Ambrose. Coming out of a big win against IU South Bend, the Eagles fall in the first set only to come back in the second by a drastic point differential. This comeback although wasn't about to be seen throughout the rest of the match ultimately falling to the Bees in four sets (20-25,25-16,22-25,16-25).
Emmaline Davey has stayed consistent throughout the entire regular season and postseason thus far in terms of hitting percentage. She finished the match hitting a .393 with 15 kills. Her hitting percentage this season has her currently placed her 1st in the entire CCAC and 5th in NAIA. Alyssa Gerzel was able to rack up 13 kills in the match in addition to her 10 digs and 2 block assist. Freshman Carolina Cosme finished with 7 kills and 10 digs as well. She was also about to earn her team a point from the serving line. Middle Lindsay Paulsen had an impressive performance going 6 for 9 on kills and finishing with a .556 hitting percentage. Yomailis Fernandez also contributed to the Eagles score racking up 3 kills and 9 digs.
Libero Kenia Diaz Vega stays leads the defense for the Eagles with 15 digs in the match. Her efforts for Judson up until this point have helped the team finish 1st in digs in the CCAC. She also amounted to 5 assists in the match. Lindsay Lawlor was the assist leader in the game finishing with 35 in addition to her 7 digs and 2 service aces.
Judson Women's Volleyball (18-18) finish their CCAC journey but not their season as they await their next opponent in the NCCAA Tournament.
