Eagles End Things Quick in 3-Set Victory Over Olivet Nazarene
Bourbonnais, IL The Judson Women's Volleyball team came ready to fight and proved themselves in a quick 3-set victory over Olivet Nazarene. In doing so, the Eagles have now moved past Olivet in the CCAC leaderboard.
Kills were plentiful on the court for the Eagles as they were led by Senior Emmaline Davey and Sophomore Alyssa Gerzel both recording 10 kills in the match. Davey's presence at the net helped the Eagles achieve the win as she was able to get 4 solo blocks in the books. Gerzel also had her share of blocks with 2 block assists and also 14 digs in the match. Yomailis Fernandez hit well in the match achieving 8 kills. Carolina Cosme recorded 7 kills and both Lindsay Paulsen and Brielle Wilkins finished with 4 respectively.
Game after game, Kenia Diaz Vega continues to establish her role as libero leading the Eagles on the defensive. She was able to dig 27 balls in addition to her 3 assists. Fernandez was able to record 7 digs as well. Kara Wicklund entered to serve in the match and recorded 2 services aces. Wilkins achieved 2 aces from the serving line as well. Others who achieved aces were Fernandez, Madeline Shepherd, Cosme, and Diaz Vega finished with 1 each.
Lindsay Lawlor led the Eagles in the setter position recording 28 assists and 2 digs. Shepherd also had a fair share at the setting position recording 12 assists.
Saturday 10/29 the Eagles celebrate the program's annual Senior Night celebrating four seniors.
