Judson Sweeps Governors State in 3-Set Victory
University Park, IL A Saturday afternoon match for the Judson Women's Volleyball Team went as planned as they came out with the victory 3-sets to none against CCAC opponent Governors States. Both offensively and defensively, the Eagles were a threat on the court.
Senior outside hitter Brielle Wilkins went 13 kills for 21 attempts in the match hitting a .619 hitting percentage. Close behind her was Alyssa Gerzel with 12 kills hitting .500 in the match. Yomailis Fernandez also contributed 9 kills in the match. Kara Wicklund, Gerzel, and Wilkins all contributed 3 aces respectively out of the Eagles total of 11.
Continuing to lead the Eagles after her return from injury is Kenia Diaz Vega. Her libero position is crucial for the Eagles as she was to able dig 12 digs in the match. Following her was Fernandez totaling 9 digs and setter Madeline Shepherd with 7. Shepherd's setting was on point as she was able to assist 30 kills in the match. Others with several assists were Diaz Vega with 3 and Lindsay Lawlor with 3 as well.
The Eagles hit the court next on Tuesday for a home performance against St. Francis (IL).
