Davenport, IA The Judson Women's Volleyball Team left it all out on the court tonight in a close match against CCAC rival Saint Ambrose. A great game for both sides but the Eagles ultimately fell to the Bees in a 4-Set match (17-25,26-24,23-25,25-27.
The Eagles impressive performance was led by senior setter Madeline Shepherd as she broke her season-high assists in a match by contributing to 44 kills. Alongside her assists, she also had 3 service aces and 9 digs. Freshman Yomailis Fernandez and Carolina Cosme were the star hitters in the contest. Cosme led the team in kills with 18 as well as finishing 2nd in digs with 16. Fernandez was not far behind her with 10 kills and 8 digs. Middle Emmaline Davey had 9 kills on 21 attempts followed by 2 block assists. Following her was Alyssa Gerzel with 8 kills. Gerzel also led the team in services aces with 4 and was the third Eagle to break double-digit digs with 14. Returning Libero Kenia Diaz Vega kept countless balls off the floor as she contributed 21 digs leading the team.
Judson Women's Volleyball is back in action Thursday against Olivet Nazarene.
