Women's Volleyball Takes Loss to Saint Xavier in 3-Set Match

Elgin, IL     Judson Women's Volleyball fought well tonight against the Cougars as they battelef for three sets ultimetly taking the loss in three sets (14-25,30-32,20-25). The Cougars took a fast lead in the first set dispite a defensive performance from the Eagles. Set two, the Eagles were an offensive threat as they pushed to extra points. Set three, similar to the first set, the Eagles fell behind at the start failing to take the lead back.

Continuing to lead the offense, Alyssa Gerzel finsihed with 8 kills along side her fellow middle Emmaline Davey with 8 as well. Aces were plentiful aginst the Cougars serve recieve as the Eagled racked up 6. Sharing a set of 2 were Brielle Wilkins and Alyssa Gerzel. Sharing 1 a peice were Yomailis Fernandez and Carolina Cosme. On the defensive, Cosme lead the team in digs with 8 followed by libero Yomailis with 7 and Madeline Shepherd with 4. In addition to her digs, Madeline also assisted 29 kills for the Eagles.

The Eagles face off next against Trinity Christian this saturday at 12:00 PM.
