Eagles Get Two All-Americans At NCCAA Nationals
Columbia, SC - For women's outdoor track and field, two Eagles represented JU at the NCCAA Championships. They were sophomore Aayla-Marie Adams, and freshmen Caleya Holmes.
For Aayla-Marie Adams, she competed in three events. In the 200m, she finished 10th, with a time of 26.02. But in her signature events, the triple jump and long jump, she did outstanding.
In the long jump, she finished in sixth place with a mark of 5.08m. And in the triple jump, it was a near victory for her. Coming off a win in the conference championship meet, Adams nearly did it again. Her mark was 11.60m. The top mark was 11.68m. But still, a terrific showing for her.
Caleya Holmes competed in two events, the 200m and 400m races. In the 200m, it was a top-10 finish with a time of 25.94.
In the 400m, it was another close call for her as she finished in second place. In the Conference meet, she also placed second with a time of 58.63. Here she was quicker with a time of 57.47. The top time was 55.63.
Both ladies were named NCCAA All-Americans for their top performances.
