Holmes' Big Day Leads Eagles

Edwardsville, IL - The Eagles second outdoor track meet found them at the Cougar Classic hosted by SIU-Edwardsville. 

On the women's side, JU's top performer was freshmen Caleya Holmes. In the 200 m event, Holmes placed 11th out of 36 runners. Her time was 25.86. That time is second best in school records behind the time of 25.65 set in 2023. 

In Holmes' other event, the 400 m race, she finished 6th out of 14 runners. Her time there was 59.17, which is also good for the second best time in school records behind the time of 58.55 set in 2023. 

McKinzie Kearfott and Tikaya Jones placed 9th and 10th also in the 400 m event. 

In other events, Eva Serrato placed 20th in the 1500 m event, Nayla Thornton was 15th in the 100 m hurdles, and Aayla-Marie Adams was 7th in the long jump.
