Judson Fares Well Against Strong Competition at Augustana Invite
Rock Island, Ill. The Judson University Track & Field Team participated in Augustana's invite on Friday. The Eagles were scheduled to go to Bourbonnais on Saturday, but the weather played a factor in the team's decision to move up to Friday's event.
Two of the most significant highlights of the day occurred in the 1500 as Eva Serrato won her heat and finished with a 5:19.91 time. She made a strong move into the wind with 250m to go and never looked back. In the men's race, Chase Porsche had a PR in the 1500 with a 4:17.48 time to place in 20th overall.
Camren Carter continues to shine against tough competition as he finished as the highest collegian (second overall) in the 110m hurdles with a 14.59 time. Cassandra Uribe set a school record with a 12.57 women's 100m dash.
"We saw everything from [NCAA Division I] teams to [Junior Colleges]. While it wasn't ideal conditions to set PRs or run something fast, we did a great job of competing within our individual races. Looking forward to our meets down the stretch."
