Misek Earns Second Weekly NCCAA National Recognition This Year

Greenville, SC Gina Misek earned her first NCCAA National Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week and second Track & Field weekly honor with her efforts last weekend at Elmhurst.

In a crowded field of athletes from Division III and NAIA schools, Misek had three top-three efforts, including a victory in the long jump (5.41 meters), and third-place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (16.44) and 200-meter dash (27.22).

"Gina had a strong meet Friday and the highlight was her long jump performance," said Joel Popenfoose, director of track & field. "She recorded the 4 best marks of her college career in winning the event and broke our school record as a result. She is a tremendous student-athlete."
