Elgin, IL - The CCAC announced their season awards for Women's Soccer, and the Eagles were well represented after a solid season.
Senior co-captain Kelly Leon was named the Conference Midfielder of the Year. Leon started all 18 games for Judson, tallied 8 goals, 6 assists, and 22 points on the season. The eight goals were second on the team, while the assists and points led the way for JU.
In the Eagles last game against St. Francis in the CCAC quarterfinals, she was visibly the fastest player on the field, and nearly willed her team to victory. Leon was also named to the 2024 1st Team All-Conference Team.
Joining her on the awards list were senior Yeyahs Macias and sophomore goalie Eva Fernandez as both were named to the 2024 2nd Team All-Conference Team.
Macias had an amazing start to the season scoring six goals in the team's first four games. She finished with 9 goals on the year, which was best on the team. Macias also added two assists, good for 20 total points on the year. The senior has the speed and drive to be a take it to the house nearly every time she touches the ball.
Fernandez started all 18 games in goal for the Eagles. She tallied 109 saves and a .838 save percentage. Fernandez also was credited with five shutouts on the year. Now, as a two year starter in net, she is quickly approaching the top of program records as she reaches the halfway point of her career.
On the season, the Eagles finished 5-5-8 overall, and 4-2-5 in conference play. They were the #6 seed in the CCAC playoffs, but were eliminated in the first round in heart-breaking fashion on a goal with just 16 seconds left in regulation.
Judson now will host Trinity Christian on Wednesday, November 20th at 1pm for the NCCAA Regional Championship. As conference opponents, the two teams tied in their previous matchup this year. The winner will advance to the NCCAA National Finals in Kissimmee, FL the week of December 2nd.
