Elgin, IL - With three games to go in the regular season, the Eagles were clinging to the final playoff spot in the CCAC tournament. On Saturday, they hosted the team just behind them, Indiana Northwest. A victory would really put JU in a good spot for the playoffs beginning in a few weeks.
Riding a unique 4-game ties streak, JU struggled to find the net once again. They have scored just three goals in their last four games. The game went to half tied at zero, and even a tie and one point would help JU maintain that lead over IU in the standings. But with just six minutes left in the game, it was IU that broke through with a goal. The Redhawks would come away with the 1-0 victory.
Judson fell to 3-4-8 overall, and 2-2-5 in conference. They now sit outside of the final playoff spot with just two games left.
The Eagles were only able to muster seven shots in the game, with just five on goal. Kelly Leon had two of those shots on goal. Daisy Garcia also had an opportunity that hit off of the post that would have got JU on the board.
JU has two games left against St. Xavier and IU-South Bend. In order to make the CCAC playoffs, they will need wins in both games, or one win and a loss by IU-Northwest in their final game.
