East Chicago, IN - In a unique scheduling quirk, the Eagles after a long lay off, got a much needed, get right victory Wednesday night over Calumet. JU was able to control the match from start to finish winning 11-0 in a CCAC mid-week contest.
Judson, now 2-2-3 on the season, came out firing in their conference opener. With the spacing in-between games, it had been three weeks since the Eagles were able to find the back of the net, but in this match, they found it in bunches.
The Eagles were led by Isabella Garrelts with four scores on seven shots on goal. Daisy Garcia got things started with a goal in the first 31 seconds of the game. A second goal by Garcia was followed just a minute later.
Payton Siragusa, Maria Artaloitia added goals for the Eagles.
Zazil Bahena and Araceli Romero scored their first goals of the season for JU, and Yeyahs Macias got back into the scoring column with her seventh goal of the season. Macias led the Eagles in shots with 11.
Judson outshot Calumet 57-1 in the contest.
On Saturday, JU will stay in CCAC play with a match-up at home against a tough St. Francis squad. Should the Eagles come away with a victory on Saturday, they will certainly be in good standing for a high conference seed.
