Elgin, IL The Judson University Eagles earned a 3-1 win to kick off NCCAA postseason play.
There was no score until the second half when Kelly Leon finished a shot off a corner from Mireyah Macias. In the 59th minute, Judson converted on a own goal to extend the lead to two. Macias scored the third goal (assisted by Blanco) to give Judson a 3-0 lead 62 minutes in. In the 66th minute, Bethel scored to pull within two, but they could not overcome the Eagles offensive outburst.
Bethel's first half put Judson's defense on guard as the Pilots outshot the Eagles 6-3. But the Eagles patience and perseverance in the second half paid off as they outshot the Pilots 11-7 in the second half. Alondra Blanco and Alex Wawrzyniak had two shots on goal apiece for Judson to lead the team. Yetzemany Solis and Mireyah Macias had one shot on goal each in the win. Morgan Olsen made four saves on five shots in the win.
Judson (10-8-1) faces Trinity Christian for the NCCAA Regional Championship next Tuesday at a time to be determined.
