Elgin, IL. The Judson University Women's Soccer Team made the most of senior day as the Eagles defeated St. Xavier 6-1.
The day began by honoring six seniors: Morgan Olsen, Rafaella Ornelas, Natalia Ruiz, Thasla Barkmann, Yetzemany Solis, and Alondra Murillo. The program is proud of what these six seniors have accomplished during their time at Judson.
Judson wasted no time getting on the board as Maria Artaloitia scored the first goal off a pass from Alex Wawrzyniak. The game remained 1-0 Judson until the early portion of the second half. Barkmann scored unassisted two minutes into the half to make it 2-0. St. Xavier pulled within one in the 63rd minute, but Judson had four goals in the final 11 minutes. Alondra Blanco scored off a pass from Natalia Ruiz; Solis scored as she was assisted by Kelly Leon; Blanco scored again off a pass from Lillie Whitehead, and Leon finished off the scoring with a goal that was assisted by Blanco. Judson outshot St. Xavier 23-14 with Blanco and Leon leading the team with five shots apiece. Morgan Olsen made eight saves on nine shots in the win.
Judson (9-7-1, 7-5-1 CCAC) finishes the regular season as the #6 seed in the CCAC tournament as the Eagles will head back to Davenport to face St. Ambrose on November 5.
