Deerfield, Ill. The Judson University Women's Soccer Team continues to progress on its winning ways starting the conference slate 3-0 following a 3-2 win over TIU on Wednesday. The game was played in two segments following a suspended contest on Thursday due to weather.
The lone goal scored on Tuesday was Kelly Leon scoring her four goal in two games at the 29 minute mark from a pass from Mireyah Macias. Upon the game's resumption, Leon scored another goal off a pass from Yetzemany Solis to make it 2-0 in the 53rd minute. Each team exchanged goals between the 55th and 57th minutes. TIU pulled within one, but Judson then scored an insurance goal from Alex Wawrzyniak off a pass from Mireyah Macias to make it 3-1. TIU pulled within a goal in the final two minutes, but the Eagles held the Trojans off in the final seconds to secure the win.
Alondra Blanco led the team with seven total shots, one of which was on target. Wawrzyniak had four shots on goal to lead the team. Mireyah Macias had six shots, of which two were on net. Thasla Barkman had two total shots on goal and four shots overall. Leon and Maria Alrtaloitia had multiple shots on net for the Eagles as well in the contest. Morgan Olsen made a save in the victory.
