Crystal Lake, IL . The Judson University Women's Soccer Team pulled away in the second half in a convincing 8-0 victory over Governors State on Saturday.
Judson scored twice in the opening half as Lucille Klimkowski scored 40 seconds into the game on a pass from Mireyah Macias. The Eagles' other goal in the half was when Macias scored off a feed from Josett Perez.
To begin the second half, Judson scored three times in the first 4:11 of the period to extend their lead to five. Kelly Leon scored the team's first two goals of the half. The first goal was off a series of passes from Yetzemany Solis and Alex Wawrzyniak. The second goal was unassisted. Leon factored into the next goal as well as she led Alondra Blanco on a breakaway and Blanco made no mistake. Leon returned to the scoresheet with her third goal of the afternoon as she finished an attempt off a pass from Maria Artaloitia to make it 6-0. Judson scored twice in the final 20 minutes of action, as Thasla Barkmann scored unassisted, while Artaloitia scored being assisted by Macias and Leon.
Leon finished with eight points (3 goals, 2 assists) to lead the team. Morgan Olsen earned the clean sheet with two saves.
Judson (2-2, 1-0 CCAC) travels to Holy Cross for a 2:00 p.m. Wednesday contest.
