John Wedell is in his eight season as Judson University Women's Golf Team Head Coach. This season also marks the sixth season as the Head Men's Golf Coach for Coach Wedell.

In 2021, Wedell led the Judson Women to an at-large berth in the NCCAA National Tournament. Additionally, Wedell coached Brighton Young to the Women's Individual NCCAA North Central Region Championship as well.

In 2020, Wedell earned NCCAA North Central Region Coach of the Year by guiding the Judson Men's Golf Team to their first-ever NCCAA National Championship appearance. He has led the Men to the 2020 NCCAA North Central Region championship. He also has led the Lady Eagles to two first-place finishes and has guided Grace Haakenson to back-to-back NCCAA National Championship appearances in 2017 and 2018.

Wedell joined Judson after working as the (Elgin) Westminster Christian High School's Head Boys and Girls Golf Coach. In addition to those duties, Wedell also coached the softball program and bowling teams at Westminster.
