Eagles, Burnett Win Fall Invite
Huntley, IL - On a calm but drizzly day, the Judson Women's Golf team hosted their fall invite at the Pinecrest Golf Course in Huntley, Illinois.
The Eagles top three golfers really played well as they were in contention for the lead all day long. Grace Kidwell, Isabell Burnett, and Frieda Euscher-Klingenhagen all played solid golf at the par-72, 6,044 yard course. Klingenhagen started her first three holes in one under par fashion. Kidwell's strong stretch was around the turn as she shot one under par on holes 7 thru 11 with no bogies.
Meanwhile, Burnett was steady all day long, going two under par from holes 4 thru 11 featuring two birdies, and no set backs.
All three players finished in the top-5 of the 82 person field. Kidwell placed t-5 with an 83, and Klingenhagen finished in t-2 with an 81. This was a one day, 18 hole event.
Burnett's consistent day finished with a round of 77, and earned the top spot on this day finishing in first place. The junior transfer from Elgin, Illinois walked with confidence all day long making solid shots around the green to earn the top medalist finish.
It is Burnett's first victory as a member of the Eagles.
As a team, Judson also finished in the top spot with an aggregate score of 335. Judson's score was nine shots better than the second place team, Elmhurst for the team first place victory.
A change of pace from their normal home course, this was the first time Judson competed at Pinecrest Golf Course.
The women's team will play next on Monday, September 8th at the Bethel Invite.
