Eagles Incredible Season Ends At Nationals
Las Vegas, NV - The Eagles history making season has ended at the USBC ITC Nationals Event in Las Vegas.
For the first time in school history, a Judson bowling team qualified for Nationals, as the Eagles have been on an incredible run over the last two seasons.
Led by senior Chloe Siezega, who reached nationals as an individual last year, the Eagles won the Hoosier Classic. From there, they finished 3rd at the Sectionals event to qualify for the 16-team National tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The qualifying round in Las Vegas consisted of 24 games. Judson had a block one score of 2100 pins for the first 12 games, and a total block score of 4650 pins after 24 games of bowling which put them in 11th place out of the 16 teams.
As the number 11 seed, they were put in a double-elimination bracket. Their first matchup was against Maryville who went on to win the matchup four games to one.
In the loser's bracket, Judson was then paired up against NCAA Division I opponent Lousiana Tech. Unfortunately, JU suffered another 4-1 defeat ending their time in Las Vegas.
Judson would finish in 13th place in the nation when all was said and done putting a bow on one of the best seasons in school history.
Throughout the year, Judson was ranked as high as #7 in the USBC power rankings, and would end the season in that position.
In Las Vegas, Head Coach Vince Biondo was named the NCBCA National Women's Bowling Coach of the Year. And, senior Chloe Siezega was named 1st Team All-American.
