Eagles Claim Third Place Finish At Leatherneck
Rockford, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles had another strong showing as we competed at the Leatherneck Classic in Rockford, IL.
On the Ladies varsity side, we came away with a 3rd place finish! This is the highest finish in school history at this event and the 4th top 5 finish of the season out of 5 events!
On Saturday the ladies had great contributions across the board. Paige Carpenter lead the way on Saturday as she averaged 200 on the day while finishing with a nice 235 game! She was also 91% in single pins and 72% on multipins on the weekend.
Senior Chloe Siezega was again super solid in averaging 198 on Saturday, she also was 100% on single pins at 18/18 and 80% on multipins. Senior Brandy Stewart came off the bench and gave the team a big lift averaging 198.5 for her 2 games on Saturday. Brandy was also stellar on her spare shooting as she was 95% on single pins 19/20 and 81% on Multipins! Senior Kaylee Mann after a slow start came back in game 5 to shoot 258! Kaylee is continuing to add to her best season as an Eagle and went 95% on single pins 21/22 and 75% on multipins and averaged 187.
Freshman Payten Kusilek averaged 179.5 on the weekend and was 68% on multipins she continues to grow and get better every tournament. Senior Michele Chancey was 85% on single pins and averaged 174 on the weekend.
This team finished day 1 with a huge 1064 game to catapult to 4th place after day 1. Day 2 was consistent performances across the board which led to the team climbing to 3rd overall! This took us to bracket play but we fell short in a close 2-1 match against Lindenwood University.
On the Lades JV side, we came away with a 6th place finish. Led by Senior Marisa Garcia who averaged 164 on the weekend and was 78% on single pins! Freshman Payton Currall came off the bench in game 5 with a 191 and was 70% on single pins. Sophomore Katelyn Kiefer had a high game of 180 and struck 34% of the time on the weekend.
Freshman Isabella Martinez came off the bench and had a high game of 180. Freshman Alexis Vande Kolk had a high game of 181 and was 72% on single pins. Freshman Izabel Krajecki had a fill percentage of 67% on the weekend.
Senior Isabell Cooley stuck 33% on the weekend and Freshman Moriah Greenwood had a nice 170 game and was 68% on single pins for the weekend.
To finish out the first half of the season we head to Addison, IL for the Warhawk Invitational on December 7-8!
