Eagles Clean Sweep Boilermaker Shootout
Lafayette, IN - This past weekend the Judson Eagles had another strong showing as we competed at the Boilermaker Classic and Boilermaker Team Baker Shootout in Lafayette, IN.
On the Ladies varsity side, we came away with a clean sweep winning both events! On Saturday, the team came out of the gate strong with a 1011 game 1 and end up winning by over 200 pins over 2nd place! Led by Senior Chloe Siezega and Junior Paige Carpenter as they both made their 2nd All-Tournament teams of the season! Chloe had games of 237, 245, 158, 231, and 216 for a 1087 and 217.4 average for the 5 games which earned her Tournament MVP! Chloe was also 100% on her single pins! Paige had games of 257, 214, 183, 192, and 202 for a 1048 and 209.6 average on the day for a 2nd place finish.
Freshman standout Payten Kusilek was super solid averaging 180.2 for her 5 games in placing 9th individually. Senior Kaylee Mann is continuing to have her best season as an Eagle. Kaylee averaged 174 and was a perfect 13/13 on her single pins! Senior Michele Chancey came off the bench with a big 212 game 4, and Freshman Alexis Vande Kolk averaged 167 and was 71% on her multipin spares.
In Sundays Baker event the Ladies got off to a slow start and dug themselves a 150 pin hole heading into the 4th set of the 25 game baker tournament. In the 5th set they got things together in shooting an 889 4 game set which catapulted them back in the lead in which they held on to win! Chloe Siezega struck almost 60% of the time and went 89% on overall fill percentage. Michele Chancey struck 47% of the time and was 100% on single pins!
Pagie Carpenter was 85% on single pins, Kaylee Mann was 75% on multi-pins, Brandy Stewart was 80% on multipins, Payton Kusilek and Isabell Cooley also made major contributions on the Sunday.
On the Ladies JV side on Saturday the Ladies came home with the victory by 57 pins over Marian University. Led by Senior Brandy Stewart who ended with a big 222 game and a 175 average and finished 14th overall. She also had a stellar 92% single pin percentage. Senior Marisa Garcia had another solid performance finishing 24th individually and had a 75% single pin percentage.
Freshman Payton Curall made her Eagle debut and came in off the bench to shoot 171 and carried a 75% single pin percentage. Senior Isabell Cooley was 76% on multipins, Freshman Moriah Greenwood continues to improve as she averaged 148 on the day, Freshman Izabell Krajecki and Isabella Martinez also made major contributions to the team victory on Saturday.
In the Sunday Baker event the team came up with a 3rd place finish! Solid contributions from the entire team lead to a very successful weekend for this young team! Freshman Izabel Krajecki was 87% on single pins, Sophomore Katelyn Keifer was 73% on single pins, and Senior Marisa Garcia struck 35% of the time!
Next up is the Leatherneck Classic in Rockford, IL where again all 5 teams will compete the weekend of November 9-10!
