Eagles Strike For 2nd Place Finish At Baker
Addison, IL - This past weekend the Judson Eagles competed at the Storm Baker Challenge in Addison, IL.
For the first time in school History all 4 teams that entered the tournament made bracket matchplay!
On the Ladies Varsity side, we finished with a 2nd place finish! With high games of 229, 220 and high 4 game set of 763 the Lady Eagles were able to make bracket matchplay sitting in 2nd place.
Facing Lewis University in the 1st round of the best of 5 baker match was tied 2-2 and went to a deciding 5th game. The Lady Eagles stepped up big with a huge 259 game which included 6 straight strikes in the victory. This took us to the finals against the number 1 seed Calumet College. In a close match the ladies came up short and lost 3-1 to finish 2nd. The margin was just 53 pins seperating the two teams.
Junior Chloe Siezega was 87% on single pins and 79% in multipins and struck 45% of the time. Senior Tina Tindall was 90% on single pins, Sophomore Paige Carpenter was 89% in single pins, Junior Brandy Stewart was 86% on single pins and 74% on multipins for the weekend at struck 40% of the time.
Junior Michele Chancey was 75% on multipins, Sophomore Demi Kontos was 69% on mulitpins, and Senior Neena Dingillo struck 31% of the time on the weekend.
The is the Eagles sixth top-10 finish in eight events this season.
On the JV Ladies side we finished with a 2nd place finish! With high games of 216 and 200 the team was able to maintain the 2 seed and face off in the finals against Calumet College.
The Lady Eagles were able to take it to the 3rd game of the 3 game baker rolloff but came up short and ended in 2nd place. Senior Alicia Anton had her best statistical tournament of the season in which she was 78% on single pins and 71% on multipins.
Junior Isabell Cooley was solid at 73% on single pins, Junior Kaylee Mann was 61% on multipins and struck 31% of the time. Sophomore Darian Mobley added a 49% multipin percentage, Freshman Hailey Anderson was 62% on single pins and Freshman Kaitlyn Kiefer was 58% on single pins.
All teams are off this weekend before we head to the Kohawk Invite in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the weekend of Feb 3rd and 4th.
