Eagles Come Away Champions At Boilermaker
Lafayette, IN - The Lady Eagles had a dominating performance in winning the title by over 500 pins over Sienna Heights University. On Saturday the team shot games of 869, 1001, 1024, 903, and 887 to end the day in the lead by 320 pins. Our Lady Eagles also had 3 players finish in the top 5 induvidually! Junior standout Chloe Siezega made her 2nd All- Tournament team of the season finishing 2nd on the day with an average of 199 with games of 166,204, 201, 214, and 211. Chloe also had a fantastic overall fill percentage of 91% and struck 52% of the time.
Sophomore standout Paige Carpenter made her first All Tournament Team of the season finishing 3rd and averaged 196 on the day with games of 163, 206, 236, 195, and 180. Paige also had a single pin spare percentage of 89% and she struck 55% of the time throughout the weekend.
Sophomore Demi Kontos placed 4th in making her first All Tournament Team of her college career she had games of 172, 216, 214, 173, and 191 for a 192 average on the day. Demi also had a 87% single pin percentage and a 73.3% multipin percentage on spares.
On day 2, the Lady Eagles posted the high 4 game set in baker in the entire field (including the men) in shooting 881 with games of 255, 183, 207, and 236. This set expanded the lead to 500 pins overall. Junior Michele Chancey continues her solid performances as she averaged 181 for the weekend and a superb single pin percentage of 88.2% and 65% on multipins. Sophomore Darian Mobley was solid all weekend in averaging 180 and was solid with single pins and multipins spares with 82% and 72% respectively.
Senior Tina Tindall came into the anchor position in the last game to lead us to a 223 game and bring home the title!
On the JV side the Lady Eagles also took home the title in an even more dominating performance as they won by over 1200 pins over Marian University. On Saturday, the team had a high game of 881 led by Junior Kaylee Mann who shot 238 that game! Kaylee averaged 188 for her 4 games of competition on Saturday and also had a fill percentage of 80.5% on the weekend. On Sunday continued to stretch the lead with sets of 712, 707, 732, and 625. Junior standout Isabell Cooley averaged 171.5 for the weekend and had a 64.7% multipin spare percentage.
Junior Brandy Stewart was solid all weekend averaging 171 for with a 75% multipin percentage on spares. Senior leader Neena Dingillo averaged 164 for the weekend and struck 42% of the time for the weekend. Junior Marisa Garcia was also very solid in having a 85.71% single pin spare percentage for the weekend.
Other contributors were Senior Alicia Anton, Freshman Hailey Anderson who went 8 for 8 on single pins for 100%, and Katelyn Kiefer who continues to learn and grow.
The Eagles take to the lanes again in 2 weeks at the Leatherneck Classic in Moline, Illinois!
