Elgin, IL - The Judson Women's Basketball team put forth a solid effort on this Saturday afternoon, but it was not meant to be against the Bees falling 65-52.
After a well-played opening quarter, a cold second stanza proved to be the different against St. Ambrose. Coming out of the gates, JU played in synce only trailing 14-13 after the first ten. But the second quarter stung the Eagles.
To their credit, the Eagles in the third quarter showed no quit, and made a game of it cutting into the Ambrose lead.
Charity Anderson and Sydney Novak combined for 26 of the team's 52 points. The two starters continued to battle hard on both ends of the floor as they are constantly on the floor fighting for every loose ball. The two also had seven of the team's 13 steals in the game with Anderson adding six of them.
Coming off of the bench, Paula Bernal Rodrigalvarez also had a solid game with seven rebounds, four assists, and five points. In JU's third quarter run, it was her dishes serving up the comeback bid.
Next week, JU will stay home for two more as the regular season winds down. They will host Trinity Christian on Wednesday, with Senior Day to follow on Saturday against Holy Cross.
There is just six games left on the schedule for the Eagles in this 2023-2024 campaign.
