Eagles Start Out Strong in First Half in 66-59 Loss to Holy Cross
Elgin, IL A Saturday of basketball began with the Judson Women's Basketball Team competing against Holy Cross. Starting the game out strong the Eagles battled for the lead multiple times throughout the first half but pulled ahead and finished leading by 7. Starting the second half, the Eagles kept their lead for the first few minutes as it slowly started to diminish towards the end of the game. The Saints pulled ahead within the last four minutes of the match resulting in an Eagles loss 59-66.
Leading the Eagles on the scoring front was Audrey Quintana with 16 points. Her ability to score and attack the boards makes her a key player for Judson. In addition to her points, she had 6 defensive rebounds and 2 assist. Close behind in points was Carly Scheblo with 14. She also had six rebounds and 2 assist but also added a steal to the stat sheet. The third player in double digit points for Judson was Easton Kimball. She finished the game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal.
Several players came off the bench to make a contribution to the game including Sydnie Wolf, Jessica Meyer, and Haven Bayer. Wolf added 7 points to the Judson score will also getting a steal. Meyer scored 6 in addition to her 5 rebounds and 1 block. Bayer finished with 4 points of her own, 3 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block.
The Eagles move to (2-4) in the season as they face Saint Xavier next on Tuesday 11/22.
