Eagles Fall On Senior Day
Elgin, IL - On Saturday afternoon, the Eagles Softball team took on Olivet Nazarene, and celebrated senior day for their 2025 graduates.
Game one of the double header, was a close, tight ball game. The Eagles were able to tally the first run of the game in the first inning on a Tatyana Chavez double scoring Braly Wiser all the way from first.
The game would stay that way until a 4th inning, two-run home run by ONU. The Tigers would push a third run across in the sixth inning making it a 3-1 score.
Wiser would get one of those runs back on a home run of her own in the bottom of the sixth. According to Wiser, her favorite thing in her JU career has been "hitting dingers." This dinger was her sixth on the season.
Judson would get the tying run on base in the 7th inning, but were unable to cash it in, falling 3-2.
Freshmen Katherine Hrinda was strong again in the circle stranding runners including a bases loaded, nobody out situation in the 2nd inning. Just one bad ball was unfortunately the difference in the decision on this day.
After the game, the Eagles celebrated four seniors. A fifth senior, Mariah Muskin was a fall graduate as well.
Those seniors were Nikki Letzkus, Kait Marks, who hit a massive walk off home run on last year's senior day, and senior captains Taty Chavez, and Braly Wiser.
The Eagles have six games remaining in the regular season with their next four games at home, before a final road trip at Trinity.
