Game 2
St. Ambrose (IA)
Elgin, IL - After a three week layoff, the Eagles' Softball team found themselves longing to get back on the diamond. On Saturday, they were able to split with St. Ambrose in a CCAC conference double header. Due to several rainouts, and postponements, it was JU's first conference games of the regular season.
One of the top performers was Amelia Jimenez, and her efforts got her the week's CCAC Player of the Week billing. In the two games, she went 5-8 with four doubles, and 5 RBI's.
In the Eagles' 8-6 victory, Haley Slaymaker was credited with the win in the circle going 2.1 innings, and Mariah Muskin earned the save.
The Eagles knocked around 12 total hits, with five players having multiple hits: Jimenez, Lexie Knowles, Tatyana Chavez, Amaya Chavez, and Ari Esqueda, who also added 2 RBI's.
Judson will have a busy week approaching with 10 games in a five day span.
