Eagles Conclude 2022 Season With Senior Day

Elgin, Ill. The Judson University Softball Team honored its six seniors from the 2022 campaign: Gabby Melchiorre, Morgan Welch, Maddie Ziaj, CJ Adams, Andi Stephens, and Mannon Amelio were recognized for their contributions to the Judson Softball program.

In the opener, Judson trailed 8-0 prior to scoring five consecutive runs between the fifth and sixth innings. Melchiorre had an RBI double followed by Sarah Herbert's RBI single. In the sixth, Melchiorre hit another double to drive in a run, while Adams knocked in two with a single. Melchiorre, Tatyana Chavez, and Naomi Sweeney had two hits apiece for Judson. Welch allowed eight earned runs on eight hits while walking two and striking out two, while Kennedy Dietz pitched 2.2 innings, allowing one earned runs on three hits in relief.

In the second game, Judson had two hits as Ziaj and Melchiorre had the base knocks for Judson. Sophie Schomer allowed six runs on 13 hits while striking out three in 3.1 innings of work. Welch pitched a scoreless inning in relief.

Judson concludes the season at 5-27-1, 3-19 CCAC.
